The French Institute in Bulgaria and the agency Campus France - Paris are organizing the first "Virtual Forum for Education and Career Development" on November 20, the organizers announced. The forum is part of the global policy to promote French higher education and Francophone programs in Bulgaria, carried out for many years by the French Institute in Bulgaria and aimed at students and partner universities. France is the fourth country in the world in terms of accepting foreign students and sixth in terms of accepting Bulgarian students. The French higher education system includes 73 universities, over 200 engineering schools, 150 business and management schools, 120 state art schools, 20 architecture schools, and more than 3000 specialized higher education institutions and institutes. In the current health situation, the network of French higher education institutions is ready to welcome its students and offers various opportunities for in-person and distance learning. Twelve Francophone programs are offered in five Bulgarian universities in the fields of electrical engineering and computer science, chemical and biochemical engineering, industrial logistics, economics and business administration, hotel and restaurant management, political science, European law, applied foreign languages for administration and management, Francophonie, multilingualism and intercultural mediation. With the participation of companies established in the Bulgarian market, the forum aims to strengthen the dialogue between universities and companies, so that students have the opportunity to study programs adapted to the labor market, and young graduates can find suitable jobs. The forum is aimed at students who wish to continue their education in France or in Francophone programs in Bulgaria, at students wishing to study in France or in Francophone programs in Bulgaria, at students seeking professional internships, and at qualified professionals seeking employment. The virtual forum will be organized into three thematic sections. In the "Education" section, French higher education institutions, as well as representatives of Francophone programs in Bulgaria, will provide information on the academic programs offered for the 2021 academic year and the associated career opportunities. In the "Career" section, representatives of companies in Bulgaria will meet with students and graduates in individual interviews to clarify the specifics of the internships and job positions they offer. In the "Webinars" section, there will be conferences featuring university lecturers and professionals on acquiring techniques and knowledge necessary for higher education studies, as well as practical skills for seeking internships or employment.
