On October 24, 2020, the Technical University – Sofia turns 75 years old. On this date in 1945, the Higher Technical College, established as early as 1942, became the State Polytechnic with two faculties by law. It has been assessed with the highest degree of institutional accreditation – 9.56 for the period 2018-2024. At the Technical University – Sofia, approximately 11,000 students are currently enrolled in various degrees and specialties, as well as 770 foreign students from over 45 different countries. Its structure includes 14 Faculties, 3 of which are in foreign languages – German, English, and French, 2 branches in Plovdiv and Sliven, and 3 colleges. Also operating under TU – Sofia are 2 professional high schools. Education is provided in over 30 specialties for a bachelor's degree, over 65 specialties for a master's degree, and in over 50 scientific fields for a doctoral degree. The scientific and research activities of TU – Sofia are carried out in the University Research Complex with 43 leading laboratories, as well as in 4 inter-university centers of excellence. TU – Sofia is a sought-after partner by the business sector, which provides opportunities for joint research and development activities and technology transfer at the national and international levels. This cooperation is mainly implemented under the Operational Program "Innovations and Competitiveness".
