86 companies participated in an employer exhibition. A chance for career development in the context of the pandemic. This is what the organizers say about the 15th consecutive edition of "Career Days" at the Technical University of Sofia. Despite the rainy weather, many students gathered at the exhibition in the hope of discovering new areas for development or getting to know their dream company up close. "I would find a job for the future or at least a specific field in which I want to focus, because I don't have one yet," says student Ivan Ivanov. "Personally, I am interested in my development specifically in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, and motorsports," says Hristo. Employers also did not miss the opportunity to look for their future employees. "We would like to first find an interest that would ignite them in the work. And then they could develop what they have learned in the educational institution," says Prof. Dimitar Tonev from the Institute of Nuclear Research and Energy, BAS. In addition to a variety of potential employers, the "Career Days" exhibition gives students the opportunity to look for internships, traineeships, and new fields for development. "The hunger for engineers is huge. Although it is said that there is a pandemic, it is said that there is a drop in production - companies are working and will continue to work. Especially quality engineers, such as the ones we produce. This is a wealth for Bulgaria," says Prof. Dr. Eng. Lyubomir Dimitrov, Deputy Rector for Academic Activities and Accreditation, TU. The competition team of the Technical University was also present at the event, along with one of their two race cars - all its parts developed entirely by students. The team has existed since 2014 and has already been crowned with international success. The car weighs nearly 300 kilograms and has a power of 100 horsepower. It will forever remain part of the history and pride of the Technical University. The team hopes to find enough new partners to build a third car and return to the track next year.
