Information technology as a major in universities is extremely important because it creates not only the personnel that will be needed in the future, but also in the present. The positive thing that is happening and has already become a trend is that the synergy between business and education is growing, and this leads to the creation of the personnel needed by the modern economy. Besides practical skills, of course, it is very important for the educational system to foster resilient and adaptive individuals, because these are the qualities that proved to be the most important in recent months, and those who possess them managed to maintain their positions," commented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Natalia Futekova, representative of BAIT. She will be among the special guests at the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the Technical University – Sofia, which will take place on September 29. Today, specialists with higher education and a mathematical qualification are being trained in the majors of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics at the Technical University – Sofia. During the training process, skills are developed for analyzing and building mathematical models, for assessing their adequacy, and for applying modern information technologies in solving applied tasks for industrial, technical, and economic processes. Knowledge is provided on the main ideas and patterns in applied areas of mathematics - engineering, business, finance, and management.
