The Technical University offers lectures in Bulgarian and English on innovative technologies, and the second year of study will be in Denmark. World-class top lecturers and programs with foreign universities. These are just some of the new features with which domestic universities attract candidates for master's degrees, as shown by a check by "Monitor". For its 75th anniversary, the Technical University – Sofia offers study in over 65 master's programs. "The study programs have been revised in accordance with the new reference frameworks set by the academic leadership, and the duration of study has been reduced from one and a half years and two and a half years to one year and two years," the university states. One of the new specialties is also dual. The master's program "Innovative Communication Technologies and Entrepreneurship" at the Faculty of Telecommunications is jointly offered with Aalborg University, Denmark. The lectures will be in Bulgarian and English, with the first year held domestically and the second at the foreign university. Future master's graduates can become leading specialists in the divisions of telecommunications operators, cable television and radio operators, and internet service providers, in companies engaged in development, design, and research in the field of communications and information technology, and can continue their education as doctoral students in the field of telecommunications, information technology, and electronics, the university states. The new master's programs also include "Advanced Management" and "Management and Business Information Systems" at the Faculty of Economics and "Analysis of Large Data Sets and Data Streams" at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics. At the faculties teaching in a foreign language, the study for the degree of "Master" is conducted respectively in German, French and English, complemented by TU. The dual specialization "International Business and Management" at UNSS, taught in English, is in partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with future master's students spending their first two semesters in Sofia. And the third and fourth – at the partner university. UNSS offers training in a total of 9 new master's programs. "Every year we open new master's specializations to respond to the needs of business and the dynamics of the labor market, to new economic and social realities, modern achievements of science and the constant challenges of practice," shared the reason for their opening the vice-rector. Among the other new programs at UNSS there are also those in English. Two new master's programs for cinema are offered by the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts "Krastyo Sarafov" (NATFA) - "Screen Directing" and "Screen Dramaturgy". Guest lecturers in some of the disciplines in "Screen Dramaturgy" have been attracted experts from all over the world - Prof. Birgit Willgats from Estonia will lead "Transmedia Communication", Prof. Francisco Menendez from the University of Nevada takes on "Production Models in Virtual and Augmented Reality", Prof. Moti Aviram from the University of Tel Aviv - "Audiovision for Children", Prof. Dr. Maria-Rita Koivumaki from the Finnish University of Aalto - "Poetic Dramaturgy". "We wanted to invite people who have been working in this field for years. Transmedia communication, multiplatform directing and dramaturgy exist in the world, but in Bulgaria they are too unknown and underdeveloped," shared the head of the program and rector of the academy Prof. Dr. Stanislav Semerdzhiev. The agreement with guest lecturers is to come on site, but everything depends on the pandemic situation. "There is also the possibility of online training, we have developed both options. With some we are negotiating how it will happen, since there are more practical disciplines," added the rector. The new programs will help students build on the knowledge and skills from bachelor's programs. "The goal is for master's students to acquire more knowledge and skills that will give them a wider horizon and more opportunities for realization," shared Prof. Semerdzhiev. They will deal with hybrid screen forms, will be able to focus on the title, to participate in international festivals, sociological analysis, with which to get acquainted with people's tastes. For students who have not dealt with directing and dramaturgy, but have studied a close specialization - acting, philosophy, dance, architecture, but have experience in both fields, there will be an additional course of 3-4 subjects to introduce them to the knowledge and skills of their colleagues with bachelor's degrees. Digital humanities are taught in English at SU. SU "St. Kliment Ohridski" also opens two new programs in English - "Digital Humanities" and "Regional Specifics of Global Trends - China, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (19-21 centuries)". It will be studied at the Faculty of History. From there they offer another new master's degree - "History and Modernity of Russia, East Asia and Eurasia". Four more faculties offer one new program each. The Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology introduces admission under "Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology", the Law Faculty - "Protection of Fundamental Rights", the Economics Faculty - "Business Administration - Management and Entrepreneurship" and "Finance and Investments". During the upcoming academic year 2020/2021, the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy - Sofia opens six new master's specializations in areas important for the industry. Their creation was driven by the need of business for personnel in the fields of bioenergy technologies and bioproducts, medical textiles, metrology, accreditation and certification, applied analytics, high-energy materials and industrial safety management," they point out. Shumen University records for work with big data. There are three new master's programs in which Shumen University "Episkop Konstantin Preslavski" offers training after completing higher education at the level of "Bachelor", announced to "Monitor" vice-rector Assoc. They can also be realized as financial analysts and managers in insurance companies. New is also the program "Operation of Technical Systems". It is from the professional field "General Engineering" and graduates receive the professional qualification engineer logistician. Varna Free University launches "Cybersecurity" remotely. 3 new master's programs at Varna Free University "Chernorizets Hrabar" are accredited in distance form for the first time. They are in the direction "Digital Marketing and Web Design" in Bulgarian, "Software Engineering and Management" and "Data Science" in English. The programs are also offered in full-time and part-time form of study. One is the new master's program at the Faculty of Physics and Technology. This is "Power Supply and Electrical Equipment", the condition being that the student has completed the bachelor's program. Also one is the new master's program at the Faculty of Philology - "Modern Trends in Teaching Bulgarian Language and Literature". "Cultural Management" is the new master's program at the Faculty of Philosophy and History, and there are no new ones at the Faculty of Chemistry and Law.
