The ceremonial opening of the new academic year 2020/2021 at the Technical University - Sofia is scheduled for 28.09.2020. The academic year 2020/2021 for the educational and qualification level (EQL) "Master" at the Technical University - Sofia begins on 12.10.2020. Enrollment for master's specialties is carried out according to the schedule of the respective faculties, the higher education institution reports. For now, classes are planned to be in-person. During the new academic year, graduates with an EQL "Bachelor" or EQL "Master" who wish to continue their higher education can choose from over 65 master's programs across the 14 faculties of TU-Sofia. The study programs have been revised in accordance with the new reference frameworks adopted by the academic leadership, and the duration of study for all specialties has been reduced by half a year – to one year and two years, respectively. The new master's specialties are "Higher Management" and "Management and Business Information Systems" at the Faculty of Economics and "Analysis of Large Data Sets and Flows" at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics, "Innovative Communication Technologies and Entrepreneurship" – in Bulgarian and English at the Faculty of Telecommunications, in collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark. Three specialties – "Thermal Engineering" and "Nuclear Engineering" at the Faculty of Power Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and "Applied Mathematics" at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Informatics are on the List of Professional Fields and Protected Specialties, approved by Council of Ministers Decree No. 137/25.06.2020. At the three foreign-language faculties of TU-Sofia, the "Master" EQL program is conducted in German, French, and English.
