From October 1, 2020, nearly 300,000 companies must switch to the free electricity market. How ready is business for this step, is it familiar with the procedures, suppliers, deadlines, conditions, and at what price it will pay for electricity? The host Alexander Raychev seeks answers to these and other questions in the studio of "Our Day" together with the interviewees: Eng. Konstantin Velev, energy expert of the National Association for Small and Medium Business, Sonya Kadieva, Chair of the Management Board of the Free Energy Market Association, Ivanka Dilovska, member of the Management Board of the Institute for Energy Management, and Prof. Valentin Kolev, energy expert and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University - Sofia. Many small companies still do not know that they are obliged to choose a supplier and what the requirements are - this becomes clear from the survey conducted by Rositsa Alexandrova in a district of the capital. "If urgent action is needed, one of the ways is for small business to join the public procurement of municipalities. There must be an association of consumers who will stand against potential monopolization and potential cartel. - said Eng. Konstantin Velev and added - Unfortunately, in the forums we organized, political forces did not show interest, only from the political movement "Social Network" asked for some frameworks in which to help small and medium business at least with information. I would really like Bulgarian business to think about intermediate electricity production, so that there is at least a system of energy self-sufficiency. It is difficult for a small business owner to cope independently on the energy market." Sonya Kadieva: "Customers must be informed, they must read exactly what is being offered to them and specify what they choose. The components of pricing are: price of active electricity, prices for network fees (determined by CERC) to which there is a price - obligation to society (not negotiated), excise and VAT. It is very important that customers are informed about what is offered on the market - to collect at least three offers, not to wait for the last deadline, which is September 10, and to be sure that all fees are included, and not to be added later." "People should focus on the price for energy - the price for night and day energy - these are the two components that will change in the presence of a new supplier. Everything else (prices for access, for transmission, taxes and excises) is determined by the regulator. It must be clear whether the price for energy includes the price for balancing (the trader's costs for balancing and his profit)." Listen to the entire expert opinion of Ivanka Dilovska in the audio file. Prof. Valentin Kolev: "Every economic consumer can do research and choose an electricity supplier or conclude a contract with the commercial electricity supply companies of large companies." Listen to what else he said in the audio file.
