PRELIMINARY INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
At TU-Sofia, applications can only be submitted with:
- matura in Bulgarian language and literature (BEL) – for all specialties, except for the specialties "Engineering Design", "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" and "Computer and Software Engineering";
- matura in mathematics – for all specialties, except for the specialty "Engineering Design";
- matura in physics – for all specialties, except the specialty "Engineering Design";
- matura in geography – for the specialties "Public Administration" and "Business Administration";
- matura in history – for the specialties "Public Administration" and "Business Administration";
- matura in a foreign language – for the specialties "Public Administration" and "Business Administration".
At TU-Sofia, you can apply for:
- the specialty "Engineering Design" – only with exams in drawing and composition;
- the specialties "Applied Mathematics and Informatics" and "Computer and Software Engineering – only with a mathematics test or with a matriculation exam in mathematics or physics .
COMPETITIVE EXAMS – 2018
The competitive exams at TU – Sofia are preliminary and regular.
The preliminary exams are:
- a mathematics test (it can be used to apply for all specialties, except for the specialty "Engineering Design");
- drawing and composition exams (only for the specialty "Engineering Design");
- foreign language exam (German or English) – for the specialties where the training is conducted in the respective language.
Preliminary tests in mathematics are held on:
- March 31, 2018 (Saturday) simultaneously at TU – Sofia, at the TU – Sofia branch in Plovdiv, and at the Engineering-Pedagogical Faculty (EPF) in Sliven;
- April 14, 2018 (Saturday) in the cities: Vidin, Vratsa, Pleven, Razgrad, Dobrich, Kazanlak, Kardzhali, Stara Zagora, Dupnitsa;
- April 21, 2018 (Saturday) in the cities: Lovech, Veliko Tarnovo, Montana, Targovishte, Silistra, Haskovo, Yambol, Kyustendil, Sandanski, Smolyan.
Preliminary exams by foreign language (German and English) are held at the Department of Foreign Language Education and Applied Linguistics (DFLEAL) of TU - Sofia on April 21, 2018 Exams in English are held simultaneously at the branch in Plovdiv.
Preliminary exam on drawingis held on April 21, 2018 (Saturday), and the composition – on April 22, 2018(Sunday), with both exams conducted exclusively at TUT – Sofia.
Applicants who have taken preliminary competitive exams may also take the regular competitive exams and apply with a maturity exam (matura) score for the respective specialties.
The regular exams are:
- mathematics test (which can be applied for all specialties, except for the "Engineering Design" specialty);
- drawing exam (only for the "Engineering Design" specialty).
- composition exam (only for the "Engineering Design" specialty).
- foreign language exam (German, French, or English) – for the specialties for which the training is conducted in the corresponding language.
The mathematics test is held on July 2, 2018 (Monday), simultaneously at TU – Sofia, at the branch in Plovdiv, and at the IPF in Sliven.
The drawing exam is held on July 3, 2018 (Tuesday), a by composition - on July 4, 2018 (Wednesday), as both exams are held only at TU - Sofia.
Exams in foreign languages (French, German, and English) are held at the Department of Foreign Language Education and Applied Linguistics (DFLEAL) at TU - Sofia on June 30, 2018 (Saturday). The exams in English language are held simultaneously at the branch in Plovdiv.
- The results of all passed exams (preliminary and regular), organized and conducted by TU – Sofia, are recognized for application and participation in ranking.
- The competition score is calculated by taking the higher grade, regardless of whether it was obtained in the preliminary or regular test in mathematics.
- The results of the exams taken at the branch in Plovdiv or at the IPF in Sliven are obtained at TU – Sofia officially.
