On 27.03.2024, in the presence of the members of the Academic Council of TU – Sofia, Eng. Ralph Karl Hesse was honored by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov with the title "Honorary Doctor of Technical University – Sofia". The occasion for bestowing this high honor upon him was his contribution to the preparation and signing of the cooperation agreement between the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management (FGEIM) of the Technical University – Sofia and the Otto von Guericke University, Magdeburg, within the framework of the long-term project for FGEIM of the German Academic Exchange Service, his merits for introducing bachelor's and master's degrees and issuing double diplomas in the specialty "Computer Systems and Technologies" at FGEIM, and his support for the development of cooperation between TU – Sofia and Otto von Guericke University, which was reflected in the introduction of a second joint specialty "Business Informatics".
Ralph Hesse is a successful entrepreneur and consultant who has dedicated many years to the development of trade-economic and cultural relations between Germany and Bulgaria, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Bulgaria in Saxony-Anhalt since 2006, Chairman of the Association for Wholesale Trade, Foreign Trade and Services in Saxony-Anhalt since 2006, Vice President of the Association of Employers in Saxony-Anhalt since 2008.
Dr. Ralph Hesse thanked for the honor bestowed upon him and stated that he would continue to work as diligently as ever for the further expansion of cooperation between the two universities and for deepening the friendly relations between our two peoples.
