Dear faculty members, students, doctoral candidates, staff, and partners of the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management /FGEIM/ at TU-Sofia,
This year, the faculty celebrates its 30th anniversary. Established as a project between TU-Sofia and the German Academic Exchange Service /DAAD/, this unit is today a model of elite education, top-tier scientific research, and knowledge and technology transfer from the university to business. The faculty demonstrates the remarkable tradition of success in international cooperation between Germany and Bulgaria.
For the Technical University – Sofia, this project has always been and remains strategic in the university's vision. All actions of the current academic leadership are aimed at improving this cooperation and enhancing the quality of education and the level of graduating specialists.
Clear evidence of this includes: the high accreditation rating, the highest relative funding for the faculty from the TU-Sofia budget in recent years, active partnership with business and the recognition received from it, and the resolution this year of a number of challenges arising from both the epidemic situation and long-delayed unresolved issues.
The creators, deans, faculty members, and staff of FGEIM have made an invaluable contribution to this success. The deans – Prof. Al. Zhelev, Prof. K. Veselinov, Prof. Il. Boyadzhiev, Prof. St. Stefanov, and Assoc. Prof. Al. Tsenov – have exceptional merits. We bow deeply before their missionary, enlightening, educational, and administrative activities! The efforts of the galaxy of Bulgarian and German faculty members who have built the engineering elite of both societies – Bulgarian and German – are priceless. We owe our deepest gratitude to the staff and administrators who ensure the successful functioning of the educational process at the faculty.
The high achievements of this project would be unthinkable without the methodological and financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service, as well as without the dedicated work of the leaders, faculty members, and staff of the partner German universities. On these jubilee days, your thanks for the challenges we have overcome, the high ratings for the project's activities, and your assurances about its future are the best attestation of our partnership. We are convinced that the project will not only continue to develop during the next program period after 2025, but will serve as the foundation for a long-lasting, beneficial cooperation in European education. Best wishes to all of you, builders of the high-tech future of the modern world!
Dear alumni of FGEIM, respected sponsors, and business partners, please accept our heartfelt thanks for your dedicated support for the motivation, preparation, and specialization of the faculty's graduates, and for the moral, material, and financial assistance in achieving the noble cause of this project.
Dear students and PhD students of the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management, study hard, emphasize knowledge! It is an invincible force that gives independence! Do not be carried away by conjunctural or "fashionable" views. Be analytical, critical, overcome triviality! Check the facts before forming your opinion. "Measure" several times before "cutting", and when you are convinced of the correctness of your professional opinion - defend it to the end! The French word "ingenieur" means a person who creates. Be creators in your life! Dream and strive to turn your dreams into reality!
Dear parents and relatives of the students, thank you for making the biggest investment in a person's life - the investment in education! Be proud of the achievements of your heirs, just as we are proud of them!
I again express gratitude to the outgoing dean, Assoc. Prof. Al. Tsenov for his long-term dedicated work. I wish fruitful activity to the acting dean Assoc. Prof. V. Galabov, as well as to the future dean of FGEIM, who will be regularly elected.
Dear students, PhD students, teachers, staff, partners, parents, relatives and supporters,
The FGEIM project at TUS of DAAD will continue its successful development in the future, with the unconditional support of the management of TUS, of FGEIM, of the Academic Council and of the entire university community. We also have a clearly expressed and declared gratitude and support from DAAD, for the dedicated work and activity of the teachers and staff. We believe in the success of this endeavor, because all this is done with a lot of love, perseverance, dedication and is inspired by the dreams of youth!
24.08.2021 Rector of TUS: Prof. Dr. Eng. Ivan Králov
