
Representatives of "Kozloduy NPP – New Units" EAD introduced students from the Technical University – Sofia to the future of nuclear energy in Bulgaria and to the key role of young engineers in the construction of new nuclear units at the Kozloduy site.

During the meeting, students were introduced to the project for the construction of new nuclear units, the technologies that will be used, as well as the engineering competencies required at various stages – design, construction, commissioning, and subsequent operation. Particular emphasis was placed on the important role of electrical engineers, automation engineers, and energy machinery specialists in the implementation of the project. The management team of "Kozloduy NPP – New Units" EAD also presented scholarship opportunities and the career prospects offered by the company.

The Executive Director of "Kozloduy NPP – New Units" EAD, Petio Ivanov, addressed the students with a message about the importance of education, emphasizing that it is at the foundation of the future of every country. According to him, the prosperity of leading economies is not based on natural resources or their abundance, but on the knowledge derived from education and science, and the acquired skills are subsequently transformed through technology, innovation, and industrialization into a modern and competitive industry. This is how highly qualified specialists are created – knowledgeable, capable, and responsible professionals capable of offering innovative solutions. Ivanov added that today's world is undergoing a large-scale transformation, marked by the advent of artificial intelligence, which is changing the way we work, learn, and perceive the world.

"The Technical University – Sofia is an even more important partner for "Kozloduy NPP – New Units" because it is here that specialists are trained who not only possess knowledge and skills but also take responsibility by applying bold engineering solutions," stated Petio Ivanov. He expressed hope that more young and motivated people will direct their attention to the sector, which has a serious need for qualified personnel. "We do not promise, but guarantee successful implementation and career development. For students from TU – Sofia, a scholarship program is already being implemented, in which your colleagues are actively participating," emphasized the Executive Director.

The Deputy Rector for Scientific and Applied Activities and Academic Staff, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elitsa Gieva, also emphasized the value of the partnership with Kozloduy NPP, highlighting that joint projects, provided scholarships, and the successful careers of university graduates are evidence of effective cooperation between the academic institution and industry.
The event concluded with a lively discussion, which provided students with a valuable opportunity to get to know one of the most significant strategic projects in Bulgaria up close and to discover their future place in the high-tech energy sector.
