On his first visit to the Technical University – Sofia, the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Prof. Constantinos Christofides, and the Rector of TU, Prof. Georgi Mihov, signed (16.03.) a Framework Agreement for cooperation between the two educational institutions in the field of education and scientific research. The five-year agreement will promote academic contacts of teachers and researchers on topics of mutual interest: joint research activities, academic exchange, scientific publications and information, lectures, discussions, exchange of students for training and scientific research, exchange of scientific results, organization and joint participation in lectures, seminars, conferences, as well as administrative exchange.
Possibilities for joint activities were discussed and specific initiatives for the implementation of the agreement were outlined – organization of joint working meetings (workshops) The meetings are expected to take place over several days, and the areas of scientific interest of teachers from both universities will be presented. As a result of these meetings, joint proposals for projects funded by European programs are expected to be initiated. The first working meeting is planned to be organized in the summer of 2018. Another area of cooperation will be the conclusion of an agreement under the "Erasmus+" program, for which both sides expressed readiness.
