The Technical University – Sofia welcomed a delegation from Western Carolina University (USA), North Carolina, USA. The group consisted of 6 students and 2 faculty members. The students visited the university as part of an academic introductory visit program, and the faculty members – as part of a project under the "Erasmus+" program between Western Carolina University and Technical University Sofia (FAIO).
The guests were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vladislav Slavov, Head of the Department of International Programs and Exchange. During the meeting, the main areas of international activity of the Technical University – Sofia were presented, as well as opportunities for future cooperation, academic exchange, and the development of partnership initiatives between the two institutions.
The visit program also included a meeting with the leadership of the Student Council at TU - Sofia. The representatives of the Student Council introduced the guests to the council's activities, student initiatives, opportunities for participation in university life, and the role of the student community in the development of the academic environment at the university.
The delegation also visited the Center for Excellence "Mechatronics and Clean Technologies", where the guests had the opportunity to become familiar with part of the research infrastructure of TU - Sofia, as well as with the areas in which the university develops innovative scientific and applied research.
The visit of the representatives from Western Carolina University is part of the efforts of the Technical University – Sofia to expand international partnerships, promote academic exchange, and strengthen ties with leading universities in the United States.
