For the fifth consecutive year, on June 1 and 2, a free Innovation Academy for students - Bulgaria Innovation Hackathonwill be held in Sofia. The two-day event, with elements of a hackathon, is organized by the innovation agency Innovation Starter and the non-governmental organization “United Ideas for Bulgaria” in partnership with leading universities in Bulgaria and with institutional support from the European Commission.
Within the Innovation Academy: Ideas, 2018, students will have the opportunity to develop and present their own solutions in three missions:
- Mission: "Inventions of the Future"
- Mission: "Digital Innovations"
- Mission: "Social Solutions"
On June 1 and 2 at the National Palace of Culture, Literary Club "The Pen", young people will be able to develop their ideas in the form of short 15-minute presentations and demo versions of products and services, on the topics listed above. The competition takes place in 24 hours under the mentorship of a jury that includes representatives of business, the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and the academic community.
Preliminary registration of students (individual participants and teams) who wish to compete in the hackathon will run from March 20 to mid-May HERE.
On June 2 at 14:00, during open doors, at the Literary Club "The Pen" at the National Palace of Culture, the presentations and their judging will begin.
The grand prize for the winning team in 2018 is 10,000 BGN and a visit to Brussels. Two more ideas will be awarded special subject and cash prizes from partners of the Academy of Innovations: IDEIAS and the organizers.
