We are training the third generation of engineers
Successor to the Higher Technical University in Sofia, which opened its doors in 1942 and was renamed on October 24, 1945, to State Polytechnic, today the Technical University – Sofia is the largest and most authoritative higher technical institution in the country: a leading educational and research complex of national significance with 15 faculties, 4 departments, 2 colleges, 2 secondary vocational schools, a branch in Plovdiv with two faculties, and a base in Sliven. It is an expression of our people's cult of knowledge and the embodiment of the Revival idea of creating a higher education institution where "scientific subjects, predominantly from the positive sciences applied to industry" would be taught.
69 years are proof that we succeed, the university fulfills its mission, and prepares specialists in the field of technical sciences. During this period, over 120 thousand engineers have graduated and found good professional realization here and abroad.
Anniversaries and their celebration are to preserve memory and at the same time direct thought towards the future. They are an occasion for an assessment, expressed in statistics and comparisons, but more importantly, every year the university opens its doors to new, young people who have chosen academic education, bringing a youthful spirit, fresh ideas, and enthusiasm. This makes us eternally young, constantly renewing ourselves, filled with more effort, competence, desire to defend the earned name in society, and optimism for the future.
Our professional assessment, beyond numbers and facts, are the successes of our graduates, who are now the third generation, the evaluation of the business sector, and the excellent opinion of our dozens of foreign partners. We work for the future because we are part of the university and it is part of us.
