
In the "Aula" Hall of the Technical University of Sofia, Plovdiv Branch, the university anthem was played, and for the 19th consecutive time, the large-scale forum "Days of Science" of the Technical University of Sofia began. In 2025, the unique format for the country started on April 10 with the 24th "Days of Physics 2025" and will continue until December. Among its main priorities are encouraging and popularizing scientific research, creating and strengthening cooperation between researchers from the country and abroad, providing opportunities for knowledge transfer from science and academia to business and society. Greetings and wishes for successful work were delivered by the Rector of the Technical University of Sofia, Prof. Dr. Georgi Venkov, the Deputy Rector for Scientific and Applied Activities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Elitsa Gieva, the Governor of Plovdiv Province, Prof. Dr. Hristina Yancheva, the Director of the Plovdiv Branch, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Nikola Shakev, and representatives of the academic leadership of the Technical University of Sofia.




Scientists, experts, and researchers from seven countries also participated in the 14th edition of the international scientific conference "TECHNIQUE, TECHNOLOGIES and SYSTEMS - TECHSIS 2025", which was opened together with the "Days of Science". The forum will be held until May 17, 2025, and is organized by the Technical University of Sofia, Plovdiv Branch, with the support of the Research Sector of the higher education institution.

The plenary session began with the report by Prof. Miroslav Zetek from the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic, on the topic "Metal AM in Tool Optimization".

The main goal of the conference is to bring together researchers from academia and industry, scientists and experts in technical sciences and technologies to share ideas, developments, and innovations. More than 150 people are participants this year. Over 80 scientific reports and developments will be presented, distributed across six separate sections:
• Automation, control systems and robotics;
• Electrical engineering and electronics;
• Computer science, informatics and communications;
• Mechanical engineering;
• Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering;
• Materials Science.

Subsequently, the participants joined the individual section meetings, which will continue in the following days of the conference. The accepted papers will be published with Open Access in the prestigious journal "Engineering Proceedings" by MDPI.
