The Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in "Power Engineering and Electrical Equipment", provides training for the research, design, construction, and operation of:

• - the electrical components of power plants, substations, and electrical grids;
• - the power system and its inter-system connections;
• - the electrical supply systems of residential areas, industrial, transport, and other facilities, enterprises, and companies;
• - electronic and computer systems for controlling and managing mechanisms, units, and technological processes in energy, industry, and transport;
• - lighting, heating, and other facilities.

For the educational and qualification degree of "Master", full-time or part-time study, applicants who have completed an OQS "Bachelor" from the specialty "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment" or from other specialties with additional training in the specialty can apply. The duration of study for full-time form is 1.5 years, and for part-time - 2 years, including the development of a diploma thesis. The average grade from the diploma for OQS "Bachelor" and from the defense of the diploma thesis of the applicants must be no lower than "Good".

Admission of students to OQS "Master" is conducted through a document competition. Ranking is performed in descending order of the competitive score. The competitive score is formed from the average grade for OQS "Bachelor", the sum of grades in certain special subjects, and points for completing the same specialty, for scientific publications, for recommendations from the State Examination Commission. It is calculated using a point system, with the maximum number of points being 100.

Those who have completed OQS "Bachelor" or OQS "Master" in other specialties from the professional field 5. Technical Sciences, as well as non-technical specialties, can apply for "Master" in the specialty "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment" after compensatory training, which is conducted in three semesters in one academic year.

Those who have completed OQS "Professional Bachelor" from the professional direction 5.2. Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Automation can apply for "Master" in the specialty "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment" after additional training.

A total of 12 disciplines are studied. Six of the disciplines are mandatory, studied by all students, and provide fundamental training in mathematics, information technology and design systems, electronic converters in power systems, electronic systems for automation in power engineering, diagnostics of electrical systems, and reliability of power systems. The remaining six disciplines are mandatory electives and are related to the chosen specialization: "Electric Power Plants", "Electric Networks and Systems", "Automation of Power Systems", "Power Supply and Electrical Equipment", "Electric Transport", "Lighting Technology".

The diploma thesis is developed during the third semester.

The Master's degree in Electrical Engineering prepares graduates for all positions requiring a master's degree in the specialty "Electrical Engineering and Electrical Equipment" in power plants, the electrical power system, all manufacturing enterprises, electric transport, research and development, design, trading companies, institutes, offices, etc.

Graduates of the specialty will be able to work in various companies and organizations in the field of:

• - research and development, planning and construction of energy facilities, power transmission and distribution systems;
• - management, operation and maintenance of industrial production and energy facilities;
• - production, sales, distribution and consumption of electrical energy;
• - improving the efficiency of production, distribution and consumption of electrical energy;
• - design, construction, operation and management of electrical facilities;
• - design, operation and management of indoor and outdoor lighting installations;
• - the regulatory framework, supervision, and control in private companies and state authorities;
• - in research and scientific centers, universities, etc.

A Master's degree holder in electrical engineering can continue their studies in a doctoral program to obtain a PhD.
