About the project
The aim of this proposal is to fully synthesize new layers of carbine with sensing properties, characterize their properties, and demonstrate their use as chemical sensors and biosensors. The methods for synthesizing and the properties of carbine layers will be improved and stabilized. Technologies for obtaining and nanostructuring the new class of thin layers will be developed, and their structure and morphology will be thoroughly investigated. A new class of miniature gas sensors with carbine as the sensing layer will be designed, implemented, and investigated regarding their potential for higher sensitivity and selectivity to selected gases. A new class of devices for detecting bacteria, based on microfluidic sensors from nanofibers containing carbine, will be designed. In this way, the project will be of exceptional importance to society in the fields of environmental protection, healthcare, and early diagnosis.
