Accommodation for 1st year students

Dear freshmen, if your permanent address is not within the territory of the Sofia City Municipality, and also if you, or members of your family, do not own a residence in the same municipality, you have the right to apply for accommodation in a student dormitory.

What steps to take to be accommodated in the student dormitories of TU - Sofia:

1. When you enroll as a student at TU - Sofia, you need to check "YES" in the field "I apply for a dormitory" in your student card.

2. You need to submit an application to the Academic Building No. 1 (Rectorate), office 1152 2, immediately after your enrollment as a student, if you wish to live together with:

Description of the list of functions

A brother or sister who is accommodated in a student dormitory at TU - Sofia;
A twin brother or sister, with whom/whom you enroll together as students;
With your husband/wife, if you have a civil marriage;
Other relatives or friends who are students at TU - Sofia (if possible, we will fulfill your wish, depending on the available bed capacity).

3. After mid-August 2025, each of you must log in to the university's electronic system 'E-Student' using your faculty number and personal ID number, where:

Check (and edit if incorrect data has been entered) and confirm the accuracy of your personal data;
Electronically sign the attached declaration stating that you do not own housing within the territory of the Municipality of Sofia;
Select a day convenient for you to be accommodated in your room;
Electronically sign the rental agreement, which you will conclude with TU-Sofia (after familiarizing yourself with the General Terms).

4. On the date selected by you, you are required to bring the following documents with you:

Personal ID card;
Photograph (passport format) – 2 pcs;
Certificate from a psychiatric institution at your permanent address:

Upon check-in in dormitories No. 2, 3, 12, and 16 /renovated rooms/, a security deposit of 250 (two hundred and fifty) BGN is required. The security deposit is payable within one month from the date of check-in in cash at the CASH DESK of the Department of Student Dormitories and Canteens (Academic Building No. 1 (Rectorate), cash desk near Hall 1152.

Important!!! Students falling into any of the groups listed below are entitled to pay a reduced dormitory rent:

Student with 70% or more reduced working capacity (TELK);
Student raised in orphanages until reaching adulthood;
Student with two unknown or deceased parents;
Student with three or more children;
Student with a military disability.

Please notify us by email at sos@tu-sofia.bg regarding these circumstances by 31.07.2025, and on the day of your check-in, bring with you the original and a photocopy of the documents confirming them.

To change your address registration, follow these steps: https://address.sofia.bg/bg#change-address (Due to the large number of first-year students, registration is not carried out within the specified deadlines!!!).

Address registrations must be submitted to the dormitory managers of student dormitories within one month from the date of check-in.
