На 29.09.2022 г. от 10:00 ч. в конферентната зала на БИЦ проф. д-р Януш Кожински от Университет Лейкхед, Канада, Декан на Факултета по електроинженерство и гост-преподавател във ФЕТТ по програмата "Erasmus+, представи своите лекции "A Modern Technical University – No Borders, Just Frontiers" и "Shaping the World – Biofuture".
Професор Януш Кожински се радва на забележителна академична кариера във водещи институции в САЩ, Европа и Канада. Той е международно признат лидер във висшето образование, изследовател и предприемач и един от най-широко признатите експерти в света по устойчиви енергийни системи. Завършил своето образование в Краков, Полша, впоследствие той провежда изследвания в Масачузетския технологичен институт и прекарва голяма част от академичната си кариера в университета Макгил, където е бил заместник-директор по международни отношения. Той е учредител на Lassonde School of Engineering в Торонто и основател и президент на Нов университет в Херефорд, който е едно от най-амбициозните начинания в Британското висше образование. В момента е декан на Електроинженерния факултет на Университета Лейкхед в Канада. Автор е на над 400 публикации в реномирани научни издания.
Abstract 1: A Modern Technical University – No Borders, Just Frontiers
This presentation will consider the evolution from a concept of a ‘Uni-versity’ to a ‘Multi-versity’. It will outline a purpose-designed approach to higher education considering selected megatrends and future skills. It will also consider a subject of human-technology interactions focusing on new concepts of (1) Beyond Sustainability, and (2) Post–Humanist Society. The proposed approach is an aspiration, an attitude, and a way of being. It is a vision that is co-imagined and co-created. It is expected that this presentation will bolster the understanding of evolutionary trends across universities and foster engagement among participants.
Abstract 2: Shaping the World – Biofuture
The lecture will consider scientific/engineering subjects related to new concepts of clean energy. It will outline several research frontiers focusing on bio-energy and green hydrogen generation in supercritical water medium. It will also define trans-disciplinary collaborative platforms integrating current research megatrends. One of the purposes of this lecture is to share with young researchers a new approach for not only solving energy problems of today and tomorrow but to inspire each other to improve the social fabric of our societies. We will include time for interactive discussions. It is expected that this lecture will elevate creative confidence among students and faculty.
